Whether it’s taking your special someone out to dinner, or spending time with family, Valentine’s Day is meant to celebrate all forms of love. We asked Centenary students during the Involvement Fair about Valentine’s Day preferences and traditions.
Flowers vs Candy
The classic gifts for a romantic occasion; flowers and a sweet treat. When faced with the dilemma of choosing only one to receive for Valentine’s Day, most students preferred the sugar rush. Looks like there will be plenty of flowers to go around this year.

Gift Giving
Choosing the perfect gift can be stressful, but learning what others are planning can help give you some inspiration. We asked students to tell us about their go-to gifts. The majority preferred to give personalized items or DIY projects. Followed closely by candy, of course.

Celebrating Singles
While some students spend the day with their family, and others watch romantic classics, the majority of students simply don’t celebrate if they are single. A bummer, but not unexpected.

Valentine’s Day can seem pointless if you’re not in a relationship. But remember, everyone deserves to be celebrated regardless of their relationship status. Say good morning to your neighbors, give out some candy to your local volunteers, and tell your friends you love them! Happy Valentine’s Day!
