Banon giving her favorite human a hug. (Photo taken by owner Elizabeth May.)
Banon is a Pembroke Welsh Corgi that was born in November 2019, making her currently six. Banon has a personality way bigger than her 20 pound short body, and if you aren’t careful, she’ll take you down with one of her flying hugs. Banon was adopted from a breeder who was rehoming her after she had some issues with the other dogs in her previous home. Banon is much happier in a single dog home and claiming all her human’s attention as her own. More on Banon can be found on her instagram @banana.sploots.
Brothers Sparrow- top- and Barbossa- bottom- hanging out in their favorite ‘Coco Hut’. (Photo taken by owner Elizabeth May.)
Sparrow and Barbossa- named after the two characters in Pirates of the Caribbean- are two hermit crabs around six months old. This duo took over a vacant five-gallon tank that was once the home to a goldfish, who out grew the tank. Sparrow is more adventurous out of the two and can often be found scaling the walls and hanging from the roof- much like the character he’s named after. Barbossa is more personable. He loves to be out of his tank and held by his owner. Sparrow not so much. Sparrow has pincers and is always itching for a moment to use them. Barbossa also matches his character counterpart and is missing one of his legs, but he doesn’t let that stop him from exploring his habitat.
The chickens, affectionately called “The Girls," enjoying some time outside. (Photo taken by owner Elizabeth May.)
The Girls are a dozen hens that supply their family with enough eggs to last weeks. These chickens are rather reserved but are very happy to be held- they’ll squat down, tap their feet against the ground, and let you pluck them up off the ground. The Girls live on a farm land. Their family typically has two show calves, as well but the chickens have officially become the only animals on the farm.
Fergus exploring his new tank. (Photo taken by owner Elizabeth May.)
Fergus is a Black Moor goldfish. He’s affectionately called a meatball because of how food-motivated he is. He once lived in a five-gallon tank and has now moved to a twenty-gallon tank due to how big he’s gotten. He went from only being two inches long to now at least seven inches long. Fergus is roughly three years old and spends most of his day picking up his pebbles and throwing them around or swimming through the bubbles from his bubbler.
