Cyclones, rejoice! Amidst the backlash received for the discontinuance of takeout containers, Centenary’s dining hall announces the return of the university’s beloved service.
“When the decision was made, I knew it wasn’t going to last long,” said an anonymous member of the Cyclone Dining staff. “Our students lead busy lives, and they deserve to have the option to eat on the go.”
Centenary University announced the removal of takeout containers in the Fall 2025 semester, under the claims of building a stronger community by encouraging students to eat within the hall, as well as waste reduction. Residents and commuters alike expressed a strong disapproval, claiming that while this decision saves the university money, students are left spending more for their lunch elsewhere.
The issue became a hot topic of debate all across campus. Students have made their complaints about this decision known, with some comments being included in a previous article that can be found also in this refresh.
Students believed their complaints to have fallen on deaf ears. Until today.
On March 28, the campus announced that they will be returning takeout services beginning April 1, 2026, with the first meal being free, as an apology for the inconvenience.
Don’t stress about what’s for lunch anymore. Stop by the dining hall, pick up your favorite food, and binge your favorite show from the comfort of your dorm room.
April Fools!
