Finally! Annually, students’ favorite day of the year has arrived: Centenary’s first snow day of the semester occurred on Tuesday, Jan. 16. Student Activities and Residence Life hosted a plethora of enjoyable snow-themed events. Among them were a snowman contest and a lively snowball fight for students to revel in. Additionally, hot chocolate and video games were available in The Cyber Space later in the day.
Clearly, Jamie Weingarten, director of Student Activities, made the best out of a chilly day on campus!
How was the snowball fight?
Weingarten: The snowball fight between Founders and Bennett-Smith was held at 2 p.m. It did not disappoint! There was lots of laughter and snow being thrown all around. Some students went and made snow angels, while others even buried their friends in the snow.
How was the snowball fight's turnout?
Weingarten: The turnout was small, but people would join in every now and then. It was still fun. It just meant there was enough snow to go around!
How was the turnout at the hot chocolate event?
Weingarten: The hot chocolate event turnout was great, especially after being out in the cold weather.
What activities were available at the hot chocolate event?
Weingarten: In The Cyber Space, there were games to play and hot chocolate of course. The event helped students hang around with other students and learn more about each other and student activities.
Even snow days are something to look forward to at Centenary!
