Student activities held their bi-annual Midnight Breakfast in Cyclone Dining on Monday, Dec. 8, 2025 from 11 p.m. to midnight.
Every semester, on the first night of final’s week, students kick back, relax with friends, and enjoy delicious pancakes, waffles, eggs, crispy potatoes, bacon, breakfast pizza, and so much more. Breakfast was cooked and served by faculty and staff, including Diana Alzate, director of First Year Experience; Devon Vialva, assistant dean of diversity and inclusion; and Pastor Tim, University chaplain.
“I’ve been running Midnight Breakfast for close to seven years,” said Kathy Greco, dean of student success. “It’s one of my favorite events, because I get to hang out with all the kids on their terms. Usually, I’m in bed now. I hope all of the kids have enough fuel to study and get all A’s, and had fun.”
Midnight Breakfast is one of the biggest campus events of the semester, seeing a line from the dining hall and past the President's Circle Room 20 minutes before doors open. This semester, 211 students attended the event and each received a commemorative Midnight Breakfast cup.
“It’s the last event of the semester,” said Nick Storms, junior communication major and student activities intern. “A lot of students realize the semester went by quickly, so they take the opportunity to socialize and have a nice midnight meal. They laugh, talk, and enjoy breakfast. It’s a community gathering before we head on break.”
“No student is going to turn down free food during finals,” said Tanner Sullivan, senior communication major and managing editor of The Cyclone Chronicle.

This event brought out undergraduate students of all years and gave freshmen a special and much-needed break during their first-ever finals week.
“It’s great that student activities are holding this event,” said Alexander Clauson, freshman education major. “It’s so special. You don’t usually get to stay up so late and have breakfast. And, of course, coffee!”
While almost all attendees are residents, even a senior commuter enjoyed the event!
“Even though I’m a senior,” said Alexis d’Ambly, senior writing major and editor-in-chief of The Cyclone Chronicle, “I’m a commuter, so I’ve never been to Midnight Breakfast. I’m so glad I went this semester. The food was delicious, and it was so nice to see the entire campus community, both students and staff, all together to relax during the stress of finals. I also got to hang out with my brother, [Clauson], while he navigated his first college final’s week. It was the perfect event.”
Student activities student volunteers agreed that Midnight Breakfast was a fun event, based in togetherness and community.
“My favorite part of Midnight Breakfast is hanging out with the staff and seeing everyone having fun with their friends,” said Sofia Guiro, junior sports management major.
“My favorite part of Midnight Breakfast is that everyone comes out, has a good time, and hangs out with their friends,” said Erin Cooper, junior animal health major.
“My favorite part of Midnight Breakfast is getting to work with the student activities staff and seeing the campus kids come together,” said Kayla Lima, junior animal health major.
As finals continue on this week, best of luck from everyone here at The Cyclone Chronicle. You got this! And if you missed this Midnight Breakfast, join us next semester in the dining hall on Monday, May 4, 2026 for the next midnight meal.
