Under bright skies on a beautiful Saturday morning, the Centenary Cyclones took the field against Marymount on Senior Day with a packed crowd in the stands and a light breeze setting the tone for a perfect day of lacrosse.
Before the opening draw, the program honored its graduating seniors—#17 Nora Dornica, #12 Antonia Tucci, and #5 Trista Hough—for their dedication and commitment to Centenary lacrosse over the past four years. Their impact on the program and culture was recognized with pride and appreciation.
Marymount came out strong, quickly gaining offensive momentum and putting pressure on the Cyclones with an early scoring surge. Despite the scoreboard, Centenary responded with resilience and unity, playing with heart and determination in honor of their seniors.
At halftime, Marymount held a 19–0 lead, but the Cyclones remained focused and motivated. Head Coach Gold and his team emphasized energy and execution heading into the second half, looking to spark offensive production.
Sophomore Makenzie Kover broke through with the Cyclones’ first goal, igniting the team and showcasing their persistence. Centenary continued to battle, maintaining discipline on defense and applying pressure until the final whistle.
Marymount ultimately secured a 22–2 victory, but the Cyclones’ effort told a deeper story than the scoreline. On a day meant to celebrate leadership and legacy, the team demonstrated grit, teamwork, and pride throughout the competition.
Although Senior Day didn’t end in a win, the Cyclones honored their seniors the right way through relentless effort, strong communication, and a competitive spirit that reflects the foundation of Centenary lacrosse. Coach Gold and his squad will look to carry that same intensity into their next matchup.
