Fall 2023 has been an enticing time full of new releases and announcements for well-loved series and book publications.
Many readers are excited to update their to be read (TBR) list following recent announcements and publications from a beloved author, a famous actor and a South Korean entertainment company.
Rick Riordan
The first publication comes from Rick Riordan, author of the widely celebrated Percy Jackson and the Olympians (PJO) series, which rose to global fame in the late 2000s and early 2010s.
Readers are now able to return to the world of Percy Jackson in Riordan’s newest PJO installment, “Percy Jackson and The Chalice of The Gods,” which was published on Sept. 26, 2023.
While Riordan has written other series that tie into the universe established by the PJO series, this book is the first PJO book to be published since “Percy Jackson and The Last Olympian” (published in May 2009).
Riordan’s latest publication comes a few months prior to the Disney+ adaptation of the series, titled “Percy Jackson and the Olympians,” which begins streaming on Dec. 20, 2023.
Arnold Schwarzenegger
Published on Oct. 24, 2023, multifaceted Arnold Schwarzenegger has taken up the pen for the first time since 2013, when he published his autobiography titled “Total Recall: My Unbelievably True Life Story.”
His newest book, “Be Useful: Seven Tools for Life,” goes through the seven rules that Schwarzenegger swears by in order to succeed in life and help to discover one’s purpose.
Schwarzenegger is arguably an extremely reliable source when it comes to self help and finding oneself through the challenges of life, seeing as he’s experienced many different professions and hardships. From world-class bodybuilder to California’s 38th governor to renowned Hollywood action hero, Schwarzenegger is no stranger to doing it all.
HYBE/Yen Press
Beginning on Oct. 24, 2023 and continuing through December 2023, comics featuring K-pop groups BTS, Enhypen and Tomorrow X Together will be published into print copies and made available in both comic stores and bookstores across North America.
HYBE, the entertainment company that oversees all three groups, and Yen Press announced the publications back in April of 2023.
All three stories were originally published online in 2022 and were well-received by many fans around the world, so the print publications are highly anticipated.
At the yearly K-pop festival KCON this past August, multitudes of fans made their pre-orders for all three comic series.
All of these releases, while quite different from each other, are all fantastic ways to ring in the last few months of the year. Rich in culture, nostalgia and life advice, these publications are all, unsurprisingly, highly anticipated by readers and fans all around the world.
