Hackettstown Runs On Dunkin’

Cyclones, I know most of you like a quick and easy breakfast or a warm coffee in the morning without using up a meal swipe you could use later in the semester. Well, since 1950, America has been running on Dunkin’ and Hackettstown is no different! The Cyclone Chronicle staff writers Jodi Lanka and Carly Wolf went to all three locations in town to compare their refreshers, which are similar to lemonades, and coffees, as well as their vibes, location, cleanliness, and customer service, check out their ratings below.

Refreshers: Lanka tried the strawberry dragon fruit lemonade refreshers.

Iced Coffee: Wolf tried her Dunkin’ go-to: cold brew with one pump of sugar-free vanilla and regular milk.

Dunkin’ #1: 2021 State Route 57

Vibes: It was brand new, very futuristic, and it’s right by Jodi’s gym, Crunch Fitness in Mansfield Commons. It’s great for stopping at right after a good workout. I didn’t see dog toys though but they might have Dunkin’ dog toys. 10/10. 

Cleanliness: 10/10.

Customer service: They gave me free munchkins. 10/10.

Refresher commentary: This was the first of the three Dunkin’s Jodi visited and the refresher was the first impression and first impressions leave a lasting impression, and this is an overall 10/10.

Coffee commentary: The cold brew at this location was the best one Carly had, probably because it had more milk in it than the coffee from other locations even though Carly still ordered the same thing. 10/10.

Dunkin’ #2: 170 Mountain Avenue 

Vibes: It was small but mighty. There were dog toys there too. 10/10. 

Cleanliness: The other Dunkin’s were a little bit more organized. 9/10. 

Customer service: It had the quickest service of the three. 10/10. 

Refresher commentary: It was very good and tangy. The lemonade, strawberry, and dragon fruit flavor came through very well. 10/10.

Coffee commentary: I liked the cold brew at this location and I think it had less milk than the other locations, which made the coffee taste stronger, but it was still good. 8/10.

Dunkin’ #3: 93 Main Street

Vibes: I liked the Dunkin’ dog toys. 10/10. 

Cleanliness: 10/10.

Customer service: It was the slowest of the three. 9/10.

Refresher commentary: Very flavorful, the most flavorful of the three. Jodi also got a Pumpkin Spice Latte (PSL) for fall vibes too. 10/10.

Coffee commentary: The cold brew was refreshing. The taste of the coffee was a bit strong but still good. 8/10.

Final Thoughts

Carly: Out of all the locations, I would prefer to go to Dunkin’ #1 on Route 57. I would choose this location because it was clean, the service was good, and the employees were friendly. They made the iced coffee the way I preferred it, by adding more milk than the other Dunkin’s we went to. The other locations were good and had good service and employees, however, 1885 State Route 57 was the best one because they also offered me free donuts at the end of the night right as they were closing. I think that people should try this Dunkin’ location because it also looked brand new, had good vibes, and it was very clean. The size of the Dunkin’ here was also smaller, which I preferred because it didn’t have empty space like the other ones. 

Jodi: I agree with Carly. Not only are the employees kind at the Mansfield Dunkin’, but the location is convenient for me to go to after the gym and after school one day. I’ve loved refreshers since I discovered the Starbucks here on campus, but I can get them for cheaper just a mere five minutes away. It’s very spacious and looks much less crowded than the other two in town as well. I also appreciate their kindness to Carly serving her as they were closing. It’s very modern and 2026 too. Can’t wait to stop there again!
