The Pandan Room is a Thai and Indonesian restaurant that’s located just off of Main Street in Hackettstown serves up classic dishes such as Pad Thai and coconut curries. The restaurant was founded in July 2006.
I visited the restaurant, and I tried several dishes offered. First, I tried the chicken and beef satay. This is one of my favorite dishes, and the flavors had a mild, barbeque taste to the meat which was very good. The dish came with a side of peanut and cucumber dipping sauces for the chicken and beef satay. Next, I got the shrimp Pad Thai, which was full of vegetables, tofu, noodles, and that classic Pad Thai sauce you just can’t get enough of!
I also ordered their yellow coconut curry, which is another one of my favorites. The curry itself was very creamy and flavorful, and the vegetables, such as broccoli, paired itself very nicely with the coconut curry.
Lastly, I tried their butterscotch pudding, which had a rich caramel-like flavor and was topped with whipped cream. The Pandan Room is very allergy-friendly, offering dairy-free, vegetarian, and gluten-free options on their menu. As someone who is dairy free, I enjoyed all of the dishes I ordered without having to worry about my allergies. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who comes into Hackettstown or any student who enjoys Indonesian food, and I will definitely be back at the Pandan Room!
