Sometimes you get bored of the Dining Hall, or maybe you want to try something new. Well, don’t worry; I’m trying the local spots in town for you.
With a 15-minute walk or a 5-minute drive, you can be right down on Main Street trying all these delicious foods. Especially the Sub Shack & Deli if you want breakfast, lunch, or even pick up a quick dinner.
The Sub Shack & Deli, located at 312 Main St here in town, is within walking distance of campus and is a great place to try.
As I walked in, I was greeted very warmly by the staff, and was met with a packed menu of many different options ranging from sandwiches to burgers.
I noticed that there are no seats, so this is the type of place to order, get your food, and be on your way.
With such a large menu, I couldn’t decide. I ended up choosing a sub with prosciuttini, cheese, capicola and all those delicious toppings of your choice, as well as a prosciuttini, salami and cheese sub.
The best part about this was the sizes and pricing. The loaded, meaty subs come in half (8”) or whole (16”) sizes.
For $6.95, you can get a 8” sub, and for $13.90, a 16”, where they don’t skimp on the meat. I haven’t seen this much food for the price since Wendy's four for four.
The meat was freshly sliced right in front of you–unlike Wawa or QuickChek–prepared in a clean environment, and you could get anything you wanted on it.
The service was lightning fast; I was in and out of the deli in less than 10 minutes. They make you feel welcome while throwing in some small talk and jokes here and there.
Both of my sandwiches were very well-seasoned, tasted amazing, and were overall fresh and delicious. It doesn’t get better than that.
The only downside to this place is that it’s cash only. As someone who doesn’t carry cash, I had to use the ATM, which charged me a fee for every withdrawal.
But with a short walking distance from campus, friendly service, fresh deli meats, great pricing, and a large selection of items on the menu, I highly recommend this place if you want to try something different or new.
Come read next time when I will be going in and reviewing Davila’s Pizza & Restaurant down on Main Street so you don’t have to!
