August brings a vibe most people find confusing. Some believe that August is a month spent enjoying the bright sun of the summer season. For me and many other people, August is when the first rays of fall enter the horizon. Pumpkin spice lattes begin to pop onto the menus. The spicy scent of apple cider donuts flow around local bakeries. Wrapping yourself in a cozy sweater. These special attributes don’t show up until the middle to end of the month. Nevertheless, August is still the first fall month in my mind. I tend to let my delusions make me believe that it is in the high 60s and low 70s rather than the 80s and 90s. August is also the month where most students return back to school, whether it is high school or college. The first semester of school is traditionally the fall semester, making August even more of a fall month. I believe that the main reason why I think August is a fall month is because of my distaste for summer. Don’t get me wrong, I love the feeling of the sun’s raze, but when it starts getting too hot, I start getting angry. I tend to get hot very easily so having it be extremely hot does not help. I always say that I prefer to be cold rather than hot because you can always get warm but it's almost impossible to cool down. I do enjoy going to the beach and tanning but only when there is a nice breeze to contrast the blazing sun. As a whole, fall will forever hold a special place in my heart. The feeling of cool breeze swishing around while leaves fall around you holding a pumpkin spice latte is something that comforts me in a way I can’t express.
