In January, we were hit with a snow storm leaving us with over a foot of snow. Not only were we stuck inside, but shoveling took weeks.
We made our way to class through freezing weather and snow covered pathways. As the month went on, we finally started to see a sign of spring.
On Tuesday, Feb. 17, I was bedridden with a stomach bug. I stayed home from class in order to recover. I slept through most of the next day - February 18 - and woke up to a flood of emails.
Centenary lost power, as well as having no internet and no access to Moodle. Not only was I already behind from being sick, but classes were canceled Wednesday due to technical difficulties and I had no way of completing my assignments.
Returning to class on Thursday, Feb. 19 resulted in the power going out…again. Although it was for a brief moment, we still had no internet and no Moodle.
We continued on with classes, having to participate in assignments “old school” without technology. I found it nice, as it has been quite a while since we did anything without screens.
Moodle came back on and we were able to catch up on work. I spent 10 hours on Friday completing missing assignments from being sick and the power inconveniences. Yay.
Just as the sun started to hit the snow and campus slowly defrosted, we received a blizzard. I am tired. I am cold. I cannot wait for spring. If we get snow again, I will send you all pictures from Florida on the beach!
