After years of delicious, handcrafted authentic Italian pizza as a Cyclone Dining staple, faculty has decided to remove a campus favorite and replace it with a sushi bar after an executive board meeting.
“Pizza is high in cholesterol, fat, and sugar, making it one of the unhealthiest options on our menu,” said an anonymous staff member. “We are striving to create a healthier campus community, and that starts with the food. Sushi is high in heart healthy omega-3 fatty acids and uses a leaner cut of protein: fish.”
A Cyclone Dining staff member revealed in an interview that, starting in the Fall semester, all food will also be sourced from local farms and will have an emphasis on vegan, vegetarian, pescatarian, and organic diets.
When students return after summer break, all meat, dairy, and unhealthy products will be removed from the menu. The former pizza station will be under construction in June and July and will be replaced with a sushi bar.
So, say goodbye to pizza and say hello to sushi!
