My backpack has no name, which is funny considering my family’s tendency to name everything—from our cars to random models of animals around the house (lots of owls…), a lot of stuff has names. It’s a shame! I’ve had this trusty thing since my sophomore year of high school, when I came back from COVID lockdown after spending my entire freshman year online. As for what’s found in it, that depends on when you find it. When I’m in class, you’ll find my laptop and any relevant papers/items in there. I live on campus and go home during the weekend, so I’ll bring my laptop, PlayStation (with games and controller!), and a couple books (namely a book about learning Mandarin Chinese—which is perhaps the most interesting thing I’m into right now, you’d never have guessed) home with me. The furthest I’ve ever taken this backpack was on a trip to California back in the fall of 2023, an amazing trip with the most beautiful weather I’d ever experienced. I hope it’ll come with me no matter where I go in life—both literally and figuratively.
