Welcome back everyone! As we got started on our fall semester back at Centenary, Student Activities organized a Volleyball and Badminton event held at the Quad on Friday, Sept. 6, from 4 to 6 p.m. This kicked off the first event sponsored by Student Activities this year.
If students were expecting “the usual,” they were in for a surprise with the addition of a unique volleyball setup called “4-way volleyball.” This game was played similar to playing 4 square, where players try to be crowned king, keep their position, and try to not get eliminated.
The event certainly was a hit among students!
“It was great!” said sophomore Erick Young.
“The staff were all nice and very engaging,” said sophomore Nevaeh O’Keefe. “They welcomed everyone no matter the skill level. I went in the very beginning and stayed until the very end.”
“Overall it was a good event; I especially loved the four-way volleyball. That was a lot of fun,” said David Espino.
Student Activities will be hosting more events like this all semester long. So, keep an eye out for a weekly email every Monday titled “In the Know” by Jamie Weingaten, director of student activities that lists the week’s activities.
