Centenary Athletics Adds Quidditch to the Roster

In a shocking announcement, Centenary will be adding Quidditch as a sport on April 1, 2026. Most people refer to this sport now as Quadball. 

Quidditch started as a made-up sport from the famous Harry Potter movie franchise. In 2005, Middlebury College in Vermont became the first college or university to add Quidditch as a sport. Over 110 colleges have now added Quidditch as a sport, including UCLA and University of Texas. 

This sport will start in the Fall of 2026. Tryouts will be held in late August. The team will practice Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays at 6 p.m. 

The Head Coach is still not announced but should be announced in the upcoming days. This team will compete in the Quadball League. The schedule is still being compiled so we don’t know who they will play yet.

“I have been waiting all my life for this to happen,” said an anonymous student who was very excited.

Students interested in joining the team should keep an eye out for posters around campus about the Quidditch team. Donations for broomsticks are being accepted and appreciated.
