Ebenezer Scrooge in A Christmas Carol, based on the story by Charles Dickens (Photo by Centenary Stage Company)
It’s not a humbug, Centenary. The Centenary Stage Company will present the iconic A Christmas Carol, detailing a transformative night for Ebenezer Scrooge.
Written in 1843 by Charles Dickens, This tale has been around for nearly two hundred years, and it’s one of my favorites, so I’m glad it’s being performed in my freshman year.
Its leads are equity actor Michael Fleischer as Scrooge, junior Cody Jackson as the Ghost of Jacob Marley, equity actor Megan Schmiedhauser as the Ghost of Christmas Past, senior Kai Vialva as the Ghost of Christmas Present, and equity actor Ariana Cacioppo as the Ghost of Christmas Future. The Cyclone Chronicle’s own, senior Osaivbie Igiebor, will be serving as the judge- and two other roles- of this production.
The show will begin on November 29 and proceed until December 15.
Show times are:
12/11 2pm (Wed)
12/12 7pm (Thu)
12/13 8pm (Fri)
12/14 8pm (Sat)
12/15 2pm (Sun)
If you or a Tiny Tim under 12 want to buy a ticket, it will cost you $20. Adult tickets are $29.50 on Friday evenings, $32.50 on Saturdays, and $27.50 for matinees. Those of about the same age as Scrooge can go to a matinee for free, but they’ll have to pay $27.50 otherwise. I hope you attend.
God bless us, everyone!
