Pastor Tim Nicinski

Location: Due to flood damage, Pastor Tim is not in his office in the Campus Life Suite. Instead he utilizes the library for a meeting place and office support. He’s usually walking around, so if he’s needed, just send him an email at Timothy.Nicinski@CentenaryUniversity.edu. 

Functions/Description: 

As the chaplain of the University, Pastor Tim has two main functions. The first is the ceremonial responsibilities for important events and programming on campus and off. Pastor Tim provides opening and closing prayers for official gathering from the Convocation to Graduation. These prayers are referred to as the invocation and benediction. Pastor Tim also provides programming for special events, like 9/11 and represents the University at events in town. An example would be Memorial Day Services in Hackettstown.

As the director of Campus Ministry, Pastor Tim works with students on prayer gathering, Bible studies, and community service. He meets with students to discuss faith and live that faith out by helping those in need as locally as Trinity UMC and Manhattan for Midnight Run.

Most common visit/concern: 

Students often seek out Pastor Tim to grow their faith life, learn about community service opportunities, or just to talk.

Most students don’t know: 

Pastor Tim is here to support them beyond the traditional role of chaplain. Pastor Tim helps navigate the college experience, find them resources for reaching their goals, and to simply listen.
